The International Symposium on Health Informatics and Bioinformatics, (HIBIT), now in its twelfth year HIBIT 2019, aims to bring together academics, researchers and practitioners who work in these popular and fulfilling areas and to create the much-needed synergy among medical, biological and information technology sectors. HIBIT is one of the few conferences emphasizing such synergy. HIBIT provides a forum for discussion, exploration and development of both theoretical and practical aspects of health informatics and bioinformatics and a chance to follow current research in this area by networking with other bioinformatician.

Taxi
Taxi, in general is quite reasonable. So, if you, as a visitor not having budget limitations, it is an advisable means of transportation. You should of course remember to check that the "taximeter" showing how much you should pay is turned on. The Adnan Menderes Airport is located 20km away from the conference venue (İBG). One of the simplest ways to reach the conference venue is to take a taxi and go to the Dokuz Eylul health campus. The average duration of travel is around 20 minutes and cost is approximately 85-90 Turkish liras (15 EUR).
Bus
Within the city of Izmir, the main public transport means is the red municipal buses. In these buses you can use money or you can use "İzmirim Kart" (City Card). One of the cheapest ways to reach İBG is to take the 202 bus route that departs from the arrival level of the airport (the ground floor, bus station). At the "Fahrettin Altay Meydan" station, drop off from Route 202, across the street at "Uckuyular Pazaryeri" station get on one of the bus lines (5, 6, 7, 551). The nearest bus stop to the İBG is “Dokuz Eylul”. Average duration: 40mins. For detailed information about route and departure times please click here.
Metro
In the 11.6 km-long line of the İzmir metro there are a total of 10 stations, namely the Hatay/ Fahrettin Altay, Konak, Çankaya, Basmane, Hilal, Stadyum, Halkapınar, Sanayi, Bornova/ Bölge and the Bornova ones. In the Bornova/Halkapınar, Hatay/Üçyol connection stations there is a connection with a bus while in the Konak Station there is both a bus and a ferry connection.

Tickets & Passes
İzmir has two travel cards, which cover bus, metro, İzban and ferry trips. These are available and can be recharged at stations, piers and shops with the Kent Kart sign. İzmirim Kart (City Card) You pay a 7 TL (1.2 EUR) deposit when you buy the card and then top it up with credit. When you use the card, 2.40 (0.4 EUR) is debited from it, then every journey you make for the next 90 minutes is free.
