About RareBoost:

RareBoost is a project funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe program. It aims to establish İBG as an international center of excellence in rare disease research and innovation.

About Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG):

IBG is Türkiye's first thematic research center. It focuses on developing innovative technologies and products for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, using basic research in life sciences as a driving force. Located on the Dokuz Eylül University (DEÜ) health campus, İBG houses İBG-NEVCELL and the İBG Drug Analysis and Control Laboratory. The center conducts 30 basic and translational research programs, technological research programs, and industrial R&D programs in the fields of biomedicine and genome sciences. İBG also has 9 service units, 6 of which are open to all public and private sector organizations in Turkey.  

Role and Responsibilities:

Fulfill duties in line with the expectations of the project leader and Work Package leaders.

  • Develop and implement social media strategies.
  • Produce creative and original content (photos, videos, graphics).
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to the creation of monthly and annual plans.
  • Manage daily social media account activity, including comments and messages.
  • Be familiar with graphic design programs (Adobe/Canva, etc.) and have prior experience in similar work.
  • Collaborate with researchers to identify and highlight key research findings, and translate scientific language into language accessible to non-expert audiences.
  • Review the content in our scientific communication materials to ensure they comply with regulatory scientific standards.
  • Create engaging content for a variety of media, such as websites, social media, press releases, print materials, exhibits, and videos, to communicate research findings to a broad audience.
  • Possess strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.  
  • Be able to work independently and as an effective member of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Have excellent social skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds (both scientific and non-scientific).
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to translate complex scientific content into a format understandable by various audiences.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Have a strong understanding of social media trends and influencer environments.
  • Conceptualize and create new, specific content in any format (blog, video, podcast, infographics, press releases, etc.).
  • Organize and execute internal and external events (conferences, project meetings, institutional events).
  • Support and promote the organization of outreach and educational events to bring science closer to society.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in international relations, health and life sciences, management, or a related field of study.
  • Advanced level of English.
