A Framework Protocol signed between IBG and TÜSEB

On 15 May 2025, a Framework Protocol was signed between the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Centre (IBG) and the Presidency of Turkish Health Institutes (TÜSEB) to strengthen cooperation in the field of health biotechnology.

During the ceremony, DEU Rector and IBG Director Prof. Dr. Bayram Yılmaz stated that the time has come for Turkey to achieve a long-awaited breakthrough in health biotechnology. With the strong support of TÜSEB, he said, IBG's experience would gain more momentum and these studies would turn into concrete products. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz stated that IBG is a source of great pride as Turkey's most advanced health biotechnology research centre. This journey, which was appreciated by our President, continues to grow stronger with the contributions of TÜSEB, TÜBİTAK, and the Ministry of Health. Hopefully, we will sign some significant projects," he said.

Prof. Dr. Ümit Kervan, President of TÜSEB, emphasised that by supporting the strong infrastructure of İBG, success stories similar to the defence industry can be created within the health industry.
