IBG RESEARCHER IN A COLLABORATIVE EU TRANSCAN-3 ERA-NET PROJECT

Assoc. Prof. Can KÜÇÜK is involved as a researcher in a multinational TRANSCAN-3 ERA-NET project, which aims to improve immunotherapy against aggressive colorectal cancers with metastasis.

IBG’s Lymphoid Cancer Genomics research group leader Assoc. Prof. Can KÜÇÜK will participate in a European Union (EU) project that has been selected to be funded by the TRANSCAN-3 ERA-NET-Cofund program as a researcher. The PERIMMUNE project entitled “Intraperitoneal Immune Modulation for Colorectal Peritoneal Metastases” aims to overcome resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitor treatment of peritoneal metastases in colorectal cancer patients with poor prognosis.

Researchers from five countries (Belgium, Germany, France, Norway, and Türkiye) will be collaborating as a consortium in this EU project, and Assist. Prof. Tuğba ÖNAL SÜZEK from the Department of Bioinformatics at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University will be the principal investigator of the research group of Türkiye. The financial support of the TRANSCAN-3 project will be over a million Turkish Lira and € 1.400.000 for Türkiye and all consortium respectively, for a duration of 36 months.
