Dr. Arif Engin Çetin from the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), along with Fatma Kurul, Meryem Beyza Avcı and Huseyin Bertan Acar together with Prof. Dr. Seda Nur Topkaya from Izmir Katip Celebi University (IKCU), have developed an incubator-integrated electrochemical analysis platform, recently published in npj Biosensing (Nature Portfolio).

This next-generation platform bridges the gap between cell culture and electrochemical testing by maintaining physiological conditions during analysis. The microfluidic module ensures precise liquid control, while the incubator module preserves the natural environment of cells. The measurement module, equipped with screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) and potentiostat, enables real-time electrochemical monitoring. Additionally, the software module features a user-friendly graphical interface for easy experiment control and data analysis. This innovative platform offers broad applications in cancer research and drug discovery while enabling real-time analysis with patient-derived cells, paving the way for personalized treatment approaches.
