İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center is currently seeking for a full-time Lab.Technician for İBG Biobank and Biomolecular Resources Platform focused in Covid-19, cancer and rare disease research.

Professional Qualifications:

•Associate degree in medical laboratory techniques, pathology techniques or bachelor's degree in life sciences or health sciences.

•Experience in:

   o collecting and processing (DNA, RNA, Protein recovery; serum, plasma recovery, etc.) of human biological samples (blood and blood products, solid tissue samples, etc.),

   o primary cell culture techniques,

   o basic laboratory techniques and using laboratory equipments, laboratory information management systems 

•Proof of English proficiency level (at least A2 level in writing and reading) 

•Competence in using MS Office programs (especially Excel)

•To be able to use laboratory information management systems, open source softwares

Professional Qualifications (Preferred)

•To document GCP/GLP and/or Medical Laboratory Accreditation training

•At least 1 year of laboratory experience on cellular/molecular biological techniques 

•Proof of English proficiency level (at least B1 level in writing and reading and speaking) 

•Experience in using data recording / analysis programs 

Other Qualifications:

•Team working, problem solving, planning and communication skills,

•Awareness of biosafety and biosecurity, occupational health.

Responsibilities:

•To comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) of biological samples , the relevant working instructions and personal data protection rules,

•To carry out all steps of transferring, recording, processing, freezing, storing and transferring biological samples of the biobank in accordance with the SOP,

•To record all sample collection, transfer, processing,storage and recording steps of each biological material to the laboratory information system or other sample tracking devices on time,

•To prepare, made and track all consumable orders for biobank and managing inventory,

•To follow up the biobank devices in a timely and complete manner, to follow the maintenance and repair processes of the devices,

•Keeping / maintaining quality records (Logbook, analysis book, study document, etc.),

•Ensuring the order of archive files, keeping archive records, ensuring that filing and archiving works are carried out in accordance with standards.
