Intellectual Property Specialist

Full-time staff will be recruited to work as Intellectual Property Specialist at the Business Development and Commercialisation Unit within the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center.

Qualifications :

  • At least bachelor's degree ( Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pharmacy, etc. ) Preferably master and above,
  • At least 3 years experience in the field of intellectual property rights,
  • Experience of patent searching for biotechnology projects ( preferably with a patent attorney ),
  • Patentability / novelty search experience for biotechnology projects,
  • Advanced English language skills ( reading, writing, speaking),
  • Advanced internet usage and Office applications skills,
  • Experience of using patent databases,
  • Teamworker,investigative and proactive,
  • Strong communication and human relations, solution-oriented,
  • Capable of planning and organization.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Supporting the researches to fill in the invention notification form correctly,
  • To carry out patent search to determine the patentability criteria at the beginning of the project and before the patent application,
  • To carry out and follow the processes for the protection of intellectual rights,
  • To take part in studies related to the ownership, commercialization including licensing, revenue sharing, etc. of all intellectual property rights arising from the research and scientific studies carried out,
  • Preparing / controlling cooperation protocols regarding intellectual property management and ownership,
  • To get information about all the projects carried out in the Center and to guide the researchers about possible intellectual properties,
  • Supporting the execution of other works related to the project management to be given by the unit manager,
  • To take an active role in the preparation of other management plans, related to the projcet management and in the preparation of contracts protocols for multi-partner for multi-partner studies,
  • To communicate effectively and timely with all stakeholders.
