BİDEB funding for Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Centre researchers
The results of the 2247-A National Leading Researchers Programme and 2247-D National Young Leaders Programme 2023, carried out by the TUBITAK Directorate of Scientist Support Programmes (BİDEB), have been announced.
The results of the 2247-A National Leading Researchers Programme and 2247-D National Young Leaders Programme 2023, carried out by the TUBITAK Directorate of Scientist Support Programmes (BİDEB), have been announced. Four researchers from Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Centre (IBG) were eligible to be a part of these support programmes through their scientific studies.
Prof. Dr Şermin Genç, Prof. Dr İhsan Gürsel, Prof. Dr Şerif Şentürk and Dr Arif Engin Çetin will carry their research projects further with the support provided by TÜBİTAK. The IBG team, which carried out remarkable studies, made an important contribution to the development of our country's scientific potential with these programmes.
Prof. Dr Bayram Yılmaz, Director of IBG, stated that this support provided by TÜBİTAK is a source of motivation for the centre and stated that; “As IBG, we are working to make our country an international centre in scientific research infrastructure. The participation of our researchers in such prestigious national programmes will significantly contribute to achieving our scientific goals. With this support, we will strengthen our projects and continue to produce new studies that will benefit society.”
Prof. Dr Yılmaz also stated that IBG is committed to its goals of training qualified scientists for our country and developing innovative solutions in the field of health sciences.
