The Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) has announced the recipients of the 2025 TÜBA-GEBİP Awards, which recognize outstanding young scientists across Turkey. This year, two principal investigators from the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG) were honored in different categories.
Prof. Seda Nur Topkaya Çetin was awarded in the Health Sciences category for her impactful research in analytical chemistry and bioanalytical sensor technologies. Her innovative diagnostic platforms and advanced analytical methods play an important role in improving health technologies and early detection systems.
Assoc. Prof. Muhammed Üçüncü, known for his research in organic chemistry, received the award in the Natural Sciences category. His work focuses on sustainable synthetic methodologies, functional materials, and molecular design, contributing significantly to both fundamental science and applied technologies.
