The IBG Biobank and Biomolecular Resources Platform (IBG Biobank)

The IBG Biobank and Biomolecular Resources Platform (IBG Biobank) is structured in accordance with the ISO 20387:2018 standard; a research biobank that provides researchers and clinicians with access to high-quality biological samples (tissue, blood, serum, plasma, primary cells, protein, PBMC, DNA and RNA) and data. Data associated with biological samples is stored and shared in an anonymised manner following the KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698) and GDPR-EU (General Data Protection Regulation).

The platform provides a robust infrastructure to shorten the time from scientific research to diagnosis and treatment by securely storing samples and data collected from various projects of patients and donors, particularly in the fields of metabolic and neurological rare/undiagnosed diseases and cancer. 

IBG-Biobank represents Turkey as the national contact point (BBMRI.tr) within the European Research Infrastructures for Biobank and Biomolecular Resources Research Infrastructure (BBMRI-ERIC).
