
The Business Development and Commercialization Unit, operating under the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), coordinates strategic processes that transform the knowledge, technologies, and capabilities developed at the Center into societal and economic value. The unit reports to the Deputy Director responsible for Business Development and Commercialization within the organizational structure and plays an active role at every stage of the journey from research to product.
Awareness and Training: Planning and delivering training, seminars, and information sessions to raise awareness among researchers on project development, commercialization, and entrepreneurship.
Project Development and Management: Providing preparation, coordination, and management services for projects targeting national and international funding sources.
Collaboration and Network Management: Planning and managing strategic collaboration processes with public institutions, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations.
Intellectual Property Management: Protecting intellectual property rights for inventions developed at IBG, managing patent applications and IP portfolios.
Commercialization Strategies: Implementing technology transfer, licensing, co-development models, and industry engagement strategies.
Entrepreneurship Support: Offering mentorship, guidance, and support for researchers in entrepreneurship and spin-off creation processes.
