A DISPOSABLE THERAPEUTIC APPARATUS COMPATIBLE WITH FLEXIBLE ENDOSCOPES AND A THERAPY GUIDANCE SOFTWARE SYSTEM

The team "CapSTAR" led by Merve TÜRKER BURHAN and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat TOZBURUN was awarded the second prize and USD 2.500 for their idea of " A disposable therapeutic apparatus compatible with flexible endoscopes and a therapy guidance software system", in the AEGEAN START-UPS Technology Based Entrepreneurship Program organized by the UN International Organization for Migration (IOM Turkey). The advanced endoscopy cap is an endoscope mountable, optically transparent design that provides local thermal ablation to the superficial layer of the target esophagus with sufficient depth to treat abnormal tissue. In addition, the support software system determines the optimum treatment parameters with numerical calculations.
