

With its existing infrastructure and expert staff, the Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Unit supports many projects carried out within IBG and other universities, as well as projects conducted under GMP, GLP, and Pharmaceutical R&D units.
1-Cell sorting instrument (FACSAria III):
The FACSAria III allows researchers to isolate cells of interest, enabling them to work with pure cell populations or enrich specific cell subsets. Equipped with three lasers (UV Laser 405 nm, Blue Laser 488 nm, and Red Laser 640 nm), it can detect 8 fluorescence parameters. Designed to sort cells based on their size, the FACSAria III is one of the most actively used devices in Türkiye.
2- Cell analysis instrument (LSR Fortessa):
With five lasers (UV Laser 355 nm, Violet Laser 405 nm, Blue Laser 488 nm, Yellow/Green Laser 531 nm, and Red Laser 640 nm), the LSR Fortessa enables high-quality multiparametric cell analysis.
3- FACSCanto II instrument:
With its three-laser (405 nm, 488 nm, and 640 nm) system, the FACSCanto II provides up to 8-color cell analysis for users. The BD FACSCanto II is certified with qualification documents (IQ and OQ) required for Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Thanks to these certifications, it supports research not only at IBG and DEU but also at external institutions. Furthermore, it allows for quality control testing of biological materials produced under GMP principles before product delivery, as well as qualification tests prior to cryopreservation protocols for these cells.
