Gender Equality Plan

At Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), we believe that scientific excellence and institutional development are only possible when combined with the principles of diversity and inclusion. In this regard, we consider it our institutional responsibility to take structural and sustainable steps that support gender equality.

Objective

The main objective of the Gender Equality Plan is to promote gender equality within IBG and to create an inclusive working and research environment where women and men have equal opportunities.

Key Goals

  • Preventing gender-based discrimination,
  • Ensuring gender balance in decision-making mechanisms,
  • Enhancing transparency and fairness in recruitment and promotion processes,
  • Implementing a zero-tolerance policy against gender-based violence, harassment, and mobbing,
  • Integrating the gender dimension into research activities,
  • Conducting regular awareness-raising training sessions.

Our plan adopts a holistic approach covering the following areas:

Monitoring and Evaluation

The Gender Equality Plan is monitored through indicators based on concrete objectives and is evaluated at least once a year. In line with the principle of continuous improvement, updates are made based on the data obtained.
