IBG 10th Laboratory Animal Use Training Course

Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center Laboratory Animal Use Training Course, Group I (Rodents and Rabbits)

Course Dates: 9 - 17 November, 2026

Venue: Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (Hybrid Training)

For registration: Those who wish to attend the course must fill out the registration form and send it via email to  no later than October 28, 2026 at 17:00. A photocopy of an ID and a student/employee/postdoc fellow certificate must be sent as a PDF along with the form. After the registration application is evaluated, a confirmation email will be sent to the candidates within the quota, granting them the right to definitive registration. Trainees who are granted definitive registration must submit their application using the application form, along with the required information and documents, no later than November 2, 2026, at 17:00.

For Category A: Total of 40 Hours Theoretical, 35 Hours Practical

All practical sessions and 20% of the theoretical sessions will be conducted face-to-face. Only the theoretical sessions scheduled for 9–10–11 November will be conducted through the distance learning model (online training with camera and microphone required). The theoretical session on 13 November 2026 will be held at the IBG Aziz Sancar Conference Hall, while the practical sessions involving experimental animals will be conducted at the Research Laboratory of the Department of Physiology, DEU Faculty of Medicine (6th Floor, DEU Faculty of Medicine).

Theoretical Sessions: 9–13 November
Attendance Requirement: 80%

Practical Sessions: 14–16 November
Attendance Requirement: 100%

Examination: 17 November 2026

Participants who achieve a passing score of 70 or above in the examination and meet the attendance requirements will be awarded an Experimental Animal Use Certificate.

** The course program has been prepared in accordance with the “Directive on the Training Program for Experimental Animal Use Certification”, published by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on 2 April 2019, numbered 2019/03.

A tetanus vaccination is mandatory and must be administered no later than one week before the course.
