Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center Laboratory Animal Use Training Course, Group I (Rodents and Rabbits) July 20 – 28, 2026

Course Dates: July 20 – 28, 2026

Venue: Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (Hybrid Training)

For registration: Those who wish to attend the course must fill out the registration form and send it via email to  no later than July 10, 2026, at 17:00. A photocopy of an ID and a student/employee/postdoc fellow certificate must be sent as a PDF along with the form. After the registration application is evaluated, a confirmation email will be sent to the candidates within the quota, granting them the right to definitive registration. Trainees who are granted definitive registration must submit their application using the application form, along with the required information and documents, no later than July 15, 2026, at 17:00.

For Category A: Total of 40 Hours Theoretical, 35 Hours Practical

All practical classes and 20% of the theoretical classes will be held face-to-face. Only the theoretical classes scheduled for July 20-21-22-23 will be conducted via a distance education model (online education with mandatory camera and microphone). Face-to-face theoretical classes (July 24, 2026) will be held at the IBG Aziz Sancar Conference Hall. Practical applications on experimental animals will take place at the Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physiology Research Laboratory (DEU Faculty of Medicine, 6th Floor).

Theoretical Classes: July 20-24 | Attendance requirement: 80%

Practical Classes: July 25-28 | Attendance requirement: 100%

Exam: July 28, 2026

Trainees who are successful in the exam (scoring 70 points and above) and fulfill the attendance requirement will be awarded an Experimental Animal Use Certificate.

** The Course Program has been prepared based on the “Circular on the Experimental Animals Use Certificate Training Program” published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, dated 02.04.2019 and numbered 2019/03.

Tetanus vaccination is mandatory (It must be administered at least 1 week before the practical classes begin).
