Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arif Engin Çetin, a principal investigator at the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (İBG), has achieved a significant success in the field of electrical engineering. Assoc. Prof. Çetin has been honored with the IEEE Turkey Research Encouragement Award, granted by the Turkish branch of IEEE, one of the largest professional organizations in the world.
IEEE is a global organization with more than 400,000 members across approximately 160 countries, aiming to advance technological innovation and excellence in electrical and electronics engineering. Publishing about 30% of the global literature in related disciplines, IEEE supports knowledge sharing by organizing over 300 major conferences and more than 6,000 local meetings each year. The organization also manages more than 800 active standards that serve as fundamental guidelines for the industry.
This award not only represents a significant recognition by the IEEE Turkey Committee of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arif Engin Çetin’s original work in the fields of biomedicine and electrical engineering, but also highlights İBG’s research and innovation capacity.
