Advanced Imaging and Analysis Methods from Cell to Tissue — Beginner Level

An "Introductory Level from Cell to Tissue: Advanced Imaging and Analysis Methods" course will be held at the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center on May 7-8, 2026.

With this course, the participant will receive introductory fundamental knowledge from four different laboratories and will be able to: prepare routine histological sections from organ and tissue samples; experience the operational routine of confocal microscopy and super-resolution applications at a beginner level along with many associated details distinguish why scanning or transmission electron microscopy should be used in a study and interpret cell populations in flow cytometry outputs while analyzing the physical properties of cells and the molecular markers they carry.

Workshop Modules

This introductory training aims to demystify complex analysis methods through practical, hands-on sessions:

  • Histopathology: Routine preparation and staining techniques for organ and tissue samples.
  • Confocal Microscopy:  A bridge from standard light microscopy to advanced fluorescent techniques.
  • Electron Microscopy (EM): A journey into the "ultra-structure"—beyond the invisible.
  • Flow Cytometry: High-speed analysis of thousands of cells per second.
  • Location: Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), Balçova / İZMİR
  • Capacity: Limited to 30 Participants
  • Course Fee: 5,000 TL (VAT Included)
  • Application Deadline: April 30, 2026

Program Schedule

DAY 1 (Theory & Practice): Fundamental principles of Histopathology and Electron Microscopy, operational mechanisms of instrumentation, contemporary application fields, and hands-on practical experience in the laboratory and with the equipment.

DAY 2 (Theory & Practice): Fundamental principles of Flow Cytometry and Optical Imaging, operational mechanisms of instrumentation, contemporary application fields, and hands-on practical experience in the laboratory and with the equipment.
